Shweta Linga Reddy

Abstract
This study addresses the body image experiences of men. The main objective of this study was to understand how men evaluate their appearance, aging bodies and how they negotiate the changes in their appearance. Semistructured interviews were conducted with men in the age range of 52 to 71 years to collect qualitative data. Narrative analysis was utilized to analyze the transcribed interviews. Given the challenges of aging, older individuals strive to maintain positive evaluation of their physical selves both in domain of appearance and health. The respondents in this study exhibit that health and appearance are equally important and most of them appear to deal with the aging process with a positive attitude.
