Teaching Methods Preferred by Part-Time Tertiary Students in Ghana

Abstract
Teaching methods to a large extent determine learning outcomes as far as the teaching-learning transaction is
concerned. Teaching methods include lectures, discussions and tutorials. This study examines the teaching
methods available to part-time students and what they prefer. The study used descriptive statistics and narrative
analysis. Even though the lecture method dominates part-time study, the discussion method is the most preferred
method followed by the lecture method. Students are also of the view that print with study guides facilitates
learning. There is also overwhelming supports for the use of the internet were it readily available.
