Pedagogía Popular: Una Experiencia Para La Transformación Social

Abstract
This paper seeks to explain the central thesis of popular education through a state of the art of it, showing the
importance of theory. Meanwhile, central ideas and views of various authors are presented, permeated by the
historical context of popular education, showing the changes through this pedagogical proposal and its impact on
the training of university students in the social sciences, such as tool approach with populations victims of armed
conflict. Pedagogy born from techniques and methods to theorize educational events throughout the evolution of
the human being, therefore, the history of education has its roots in primitive communities from the transmission
of knowledge from ancient times, the which arose various teaching methods around the world, giving rise to
traditional pedagogy, it had its beginnings in France in the seventeenth century with the presence of the Jesuits;
years later, he was born modern pedagogy and finally contemporary pedagogy takes strength. The popular
pedagogy born in Latin America in the 50s, as a branch of the social sciences; It arises from the need to train
more autonomous human beings, a thesis that was booming worldwide. Popular education seeks to emancipate
man to creating more equitable and just social systems recovering human dignity through dialogue and reflection,
from the understanding of social reality.
