The Relationship between Religions and the Comfort Level of Sexual Orientation

Abstract
The purpose of this study intended to verify the relationship between religion (religiosity/spirituality) and the comfort level of sexual orientation. For this purpose, this study collected the data of 74 participants that are above college age through survey link. The participants completed the survey consisting of three scales to assess religiosity, spirituality, and the comfort level of sexual orientation. Subsequently, this article processed the data using SPSS 25.0 version. After calculating Cronbach’s α to test the reliability of three instruments, this work produced Pearson’s coefficient for testing hypotheses. The results are as follows. First, Religiosity had no significant correlation with the comfort level of sexual orientation. Second, spirituality had the significant negative relationship with the comfort level of sexual orientation. The implications of research results are discussed along with the previous investigations, and then some future directions are suggested with limitations of the current work.
